The GALA YOUth Forum

GALA YOUth Forum (GYF) is a youth-led initiative designed to provide a space for LGBTQIA+ youth to engage, learn, and grow. Through workshops, forums, and creative projects, we offer young people the opportunity to explore their identities, advocate for their rights, and connect with a supportive community.

Through this initiative, GYF engages queer youth in a programme that addresses issues of self-representation, activism, safety, sexual health, and the digital age. Activities include forums, the Rainbow Sports day, Holiday Programmes, and outreach programmes.

Why participate in the Youth Forum?

  • Build community with other queer youth.
  • Share your story and shape the future of LGBTQIA+ youth.
  • Develop personal and professional skills through workshops and training.
  • Participate in fun, engaging activities that reflect your passions.
  • Find a safe space to explore your identity and grow.

The Forum meets on Thursdays in the GALA Library (floor 7, Es'kia Mphahlele Building, Wits University).
