Gala20

Gala was started in 1997 by Graeme Reid, and was housed at Historical Papers in the Cullen Library at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 2017 Gala celebrated its 20 years of queer archiving and activism with a retrospective exhibition and a Ball at Club Simply Blue. A book covering the 20 years of the institutional history of Gala is in the process of being published, and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2018.
