Sexuality, Asylum and Human Rights
A Seminar on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) Refugees and Migrants

8 March 2013, 10 am - 4 pm
Graduate School Seminar Room, South West Engineering Building, East Campus, The University of the Witwatersrand

This one-day seminar will bring together lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) refugees and migrants with individuals and organisations working on broader refugee and migrant issues in South Africa. As well as fostering significant sector linkages, the event seeks to:

• raise awareness of the issues and challenges facing LGBTI refugees and migrants
• present new research and works in progress
• provide a space for networking with people working on related issues
• develop an agenda for future work in this area.

For more information or to register, please contact Hoosain Gabriel Khan on hoosain.khan@wits.ac.za or
(+27) 11 717 4239.

The seminar is jointly hosted by Gay and Lesbian Memory in Action (GALA), the African Centre for Migration and Society (ACMS) and People Against Suffering, Oppression and Poverty (PASSOP).
