If you answered yes to these questions, then you should take part in the upcoming LGBTI Migrant and Refugee Art for Activism Workshop.
This four-day workshop will by led by Gay and Lesbian Memory in Action (GALA) with support from the African Centre for Migration and Society, and Trans and Intersex Africa.
Workshop participants will:
- learn a range of art techniques that can be used to create posters, T-shirts and other materials, as well as ways to use these items to promote human rights
- explore creative expressions and learn more about sexuality, gender and identities
- discover ways to increase their community’s visibility, and to make their stories and struggles heard.
The workshop is free and catered, and a travel stipend will be provided.
You do NOT need previous art experience to take part in the workshop, but you do need basic fluency in English. You also need to be committed to attending all four days of the workshop.
